Yoga for Core
Yoga for Core is a class to bring lasting strength, stability and enhanced mobility to areas of the body we commonly refer to as the "core": the abdominal muscles, back muscles, inner and outer hips and gluteus muscles. Asana will be explored mindfully to ensure safety for everyone as we engage our deep core. Well-suited to all-levels, but some yoga experience may bring more ease for you in this class. Therapeutic Yoga
This is a great class for anyone, and is the perfect compliment to your fitness regime. It's not just about being strong and flexible here at Tola- it's about working to keep all the tissues healthy and revitalized- since we are all aging, after all. You will explore poses with the opportunity for great individual support from your instructor. Week to week, we will work with therapeutic balls to explore various poses and bring ease and increased blood flow to different parts of the body. A series of asana will allow us to better integrate the myofascial work we have done. Class will also include pranayama (breath practice) and relaxation techniques.

Candlelight Yin

Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body. Postures are held for typically 3-5 minutes, and students are encouraged to settle in and relax in the poses so the yang tissues (muscles) release and we get to the deep yin tissues of the body! Add some candlelight and you've got one lovely, juicy way to end the weekend! Yin Yoga is a great compliment to more active and fiery classes such as Flow Yoga, and is for students looking for a deep but active stretch. Perfect for beginners.

Restorative Yoga is extremely gentle. Props are used for each pose in order to best support your body. You will be encouraged to relax into each pose for several minutes, and as the physical body opens and relaxes, you will have the opportunity for the practice to be felt in the subtle energetic body and nervous system. The class sequence is adapted from supine or seated asana (postures) with the addition of blocks, bolsters, and blankets to eliminate unnecessary straining or pressure on the joints and ligaments.
